Connie Parrish of Gordon, Ga., has been named to the list of Obedience judges for the 2021 GRCA National Specialty, replacing previously-announced judge Aimee Kincaid, who had to cancel her participation due to a conflict.
Parrish, who has judged Obedience and Rally all over the country since she began judging a decade ago, will be judging her first National Specialty.
She will judge Beginner Novice A, Novice B, Preferred Novice, Open A, Veteran Novice, Veteran Open and Team Obedience during the Obedience competition, which will cover two days (Oct. 26-27) at the GRCA National in Ocala, Fla.
A 4-H family dog project in 1966 propelled Parrish to a lifetime of involvement with dogs. From her beginning with Rough Collies, she also has competed with Shetland Sheepdogs, Standard Poodles, Bedlington Terriers and her current breed of Border Collie.
She has competed in Obedience, Rally, Agility, Conformation, FASTCAT, Earthdog and more. Among her accomplishments include earning an OTCH on Summit her Border Collie in 2020. During the 30 years she worked with Bedlington Terriers, she earned Agility titles including MX and MXJ, the first ever for the breed, and she also earned a UDX title on a Bedlington.
Also judging Obedience at the GRCA National will be Jeffrey Kern and Kenneth Kincaid along with Deborah Neufeld, who also will judge all Rally classes.
Entries for the National close on Sept. 29.
